The Boys at PaleyFest 2020: A preview of things to come
What you’ll learn during The Boys panel at PaleyFest 2020
Like so many other panels, The Boys is going virtual for PaleyFest 2020. You’ll get the chance to see the whole panel tonight, but we’ve got a preview of things to come.
The cast and some of the crew take to Zoom to talk to Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Melissa Fumero about the show. A lot of the main cast is involved, but fans also get to hear from Stephan Fleet, the special effects supervisor, and LJ Shannon, the supersuit designer.
You can watch the entire panel from 8 p.m. ET on Yahoo Entertainment, where all other PaleyFest 2020 panels will also be available.
A deep dive into the second season finale
If you haven’t watched The Boys Season 2 finale yet (where have you been?) then you’ll want to avoid watching the panel right away. There is going to be a deep dive into a few of the events that happened, including the “Girls Get It Done” moment.

This is a chance for the actors to talk about the day of filming, the feelings on set, and what’s to come for the characters after all this.
It’s not just about the big fight, but about A-Train and The Deep, too. After all, there is still more to come from them, especially The Deep, who just wants to get back into The Seven properly.
Discussions of the show’s relevance
There’s no way we can have a panel about The Boys without a discussion about how relevant the show is today. This is something Aya Cash will discuss, which is fitting considering she played Stormfront.
One thing to remember is that the show was filmed (and set) in 2019. This was before the huge Black Lives Matter protests of 2020. It just goes to show that the topics have been relevant for far longer than they should be. Change needs to happen.
Visual effects and the costumes
Of course, since Fleet and Shannon are involved in the panel, there are discussions about the visual effects and the costumes. This is a chance to delve into the research that went into everything, including the aerodynamics of certain costumes.
There’s a lot of work that goes into this series. We need to focus on some of those who are often overlooked when it comes to interviews and panels. I’m so glad The Boys got a chance to showcase Fleet and Shannon’s work during PaleyFest 2020.
The Boys PaleyFest 2020 panel will be available from 8 p.m. ET on Yahoo Entertainment.
