When it comes to Amazon shows, Them has been very quiet about Season 2. What do we know about Them Season 2? When will it be released?
As the SAG-AFTRA strike comes to an end, there’s a chance to learn more about some of the Amazon shows still to release new seasons. That is for everything except Them. The horror anthology series is still staying quiet about what to expect.
What do we know so far? Here’s a look at everything, with updates to come as they happen.
When will Them Season 2 premiere on Prime Video?
There was some hope that we’d get the second season in 2023, but that hasn’t been the case. The series was caught up in the SAG-AFTRA strike, and now we’re looking at 2024 when the series will return.
What is the title for Them Season 2?
The series is an anthology one. The first season was called Them: Covenant focused on the covenants of the 1950s. What about this second season?
It’s officially called Them: The Scare. That was announced back in September 2022.
Who will star in Them: The Scare?
Deborah Ayorinde will return for the second season. She will play a different character, although it’s not clear if she’ll be connected to her Season 1 character in some sort of way. We know that she will play an LAPD detective, Dawn Reeve.
We’ll also see Pam Grier, Luke James, Joshua J. Williams, and Jeremy Bobb as series regulars. Wayne Knight, Carlito Olivero, Charles Brice and Iman Shumpert round out the cast as recurring guests.
Grier will play Dawn’s mother, Athena, and James will play Edmund Gaines, an aspiring actor. Williams is Dawn’s teenage son, Kel, and Bobb is Detective Ronald McKinney, Dawn’s partner in the LAPD.
As for the recurring characters, Knight will play Lt. Schiff, Olivero is Joaquin Diaz, a fresh detective looking to impress Dawn, Brice is Reggie Marks, an attorney, and Shumpert will play Corey, Dawn’s ex.
When is Season 2 of Them set?
This season will jump to 1991. The show will still be set in Los Angeles, but it will tackle a few different racism topics for the time period.
What will Them Season 2 be about?
This season sees Ayorinde play Detective Dawn Reeve, who is assigned the case of a gruesome murder. She finds out that there is something malevolent connected to the case that threatens her whole family.
Dawn is the only woman of color in her unit, and she will need to do everything she can to prove herself. Usually, she is sharp and observant, but the malevolent being connected to the case has her shaken.
Like the first season, this is more than just the racism that people of color face on the outside. Usually, being at home means safety. What happens when that isn’t the case? What’s going on with her family?
Them is available to stream on Prime Video.
