Could Black Noir return to The Boys Season 3?

The Boys Season 2 finale included all but one member of The Seven. Black Noir was missing after being fed an Almond Joy at the end of Episode 7. He has a nut allergy, and Stormfront mentioned that Black Noir was in critical condition during the finale.

It seems odd that a Supe can have a nut allergy. Wouldn’t that be a weakness Compound V would destroy? Obviously not.

More importantly, it all raises the question over Black Noir returning for The Boys Season 3. Is Black Noir dead?

We will see the Batman parody Supe in Season 3

There is a lot of good news. As we’ve already reported, Eric Kripke has confirmed that Black Noir isn’t dead. He will return for the third season.

More from Amazon Originals

Kripke also shared that we’ll get more backstory on this masked Supe. We’ve never seen his face, except for the glimpse of his mouth and chin. That glimpse immediately raised a lot of questions and made fans of the graphic novels speculate that the Supe will get a vastly different backstory.

In the novels, Black Noir is a clone of Homelander. It’s why he has to remain covered up, and he’s not the only one. Should something happen to Homelander, Vought can keep that quiet and bring in Black Noir as the new Homelander.

However, the TV series has clearly decided that the Supe who is a parody of Batman is not going to be a clone. He’s his own person, which means he gets his own backstory.

We may even get to see Black Noir without his mask on.

There’s absolutely no doubt Black Noir lives on The Boys

Are you used to showrunners saying one thing and doing another? You can often tell in their voices when they’re hestitant or trying to draw answers out. That’s not the case here.

In the Twitter Q&A where Kripke did confirm Black Noir lives, he was extremely clear it was happening. There was no second-guessing, and Kripke even said that Black Noir is a fan-favorite and only has praise for Nathan Mitchell, who plays the character.

And there’s no doubt that we’ll get to see that third season. Work has already begun since Amazon renewed the show ahead of the second season premiere.
