The official trailer for Homecoming Season 2 is finally out. Just who is Janelle Monáe’s character and what has she done? Here’s a look at what to expect.
Are you ready for a whole new mystery? That’s what you’re going to get judging by the Homecoming Season 2 trailer. The full-length trailer is here and it’s time to break it down to see what we can expect.
The trailer starts the way the teaser did. Janelle Monáe’s character wakes up on a boat in the middle of the water. She has no idea who she is, how she got there, or what she’s done in the past. However, it’s immediately clear that other people know her. It’s also clear that there’s a bigger story.

Personally, this season feels a lot like Treadstone and the Bourne franchise as a whole. There’s clearly a darker storyline that has caused this character to lose her memories. And it looks like she has a military past and there’s some sort of government or military authority doing some testing.
Of course, this is a continuation of the first season. While it’s a different set of characters and a different setting, there are many similar elements. It’s going to be intriguing to see how all this fits together and what Monáe’s character has done.
The only consistent from the first season is Walter Cruz, played by Stephan James. Walter just wants to build a new life, but the traumas of the past get in the way. This isn’t just about the traumas of war. His time with the Homecoming Initiative gets in the way, and he realizes that there’s far more to the program than initially meets the eye.
The problem for Walter is he can’t remember. So, two characters with blocks in their memories will need to get together to solve the mysteries. Are you ready to join the adventure?
