Amazon offers a two-season order to adult animated comedy, Fairfax

Amazon is bringing another adult animation to its service. This time, it’s the comedy Fairfax, and here are all the details you need right now.

Unlike Undone, this adult animation will be told through more traditional forms of animation. At first glance, you’ll get a sense of The Simpsons or Family Guy, which continue to take over Sunday nights on FOX. With BoJack Horseman holding a large audience and coming to an end this year, it’s not surprising that Amazon is looking to get in on the game.

Fairfax has immediately been picked up for two seasons, and they will have 16 episodes across the two seasons. We’re expecting the first season in 2021, according to Deadline.

The series will be a half-hour adult comedy from Matt Hausfater, Aaron Buchsbaum, and Tedd Riley. Serious Business, Titmouse, and Amazon Studios will develop the series.

Fairfax follows four middle-school best friends who constantly look for clout on Fairfax Avenue. Despite being an adult animation, it’s a love letter to the kids of today, according to the creators. It’s a reminder that it’s cool not to be cool; to stand out in great ways that friends or even enemies may laugh at you for. It’s not easy, but it’s important and noteworthy.

There aren’t that many animated comedies on Amazon Prime Video aimed at adults. This is a huge market to tap into, and the streamer is finally seeing it.
