The Expanse Season 5 is already confirmed by Amazon Prime Video
Binge-watched your wait through The Expanse Season 4 already? I’m not surprised! Now you want more. The great news is The Expanse Season 5 is confirmed.
After an extremely long and relatively quiet wait, The Expanse Season 4 dropped on Amazon Prime Video today. You’ve likely already binge-watched the entire season, or you’re very close to the end. Now you want more. Is there going to be a fifth season?
There’s some excellent news Earthers, Belters, Martians, whichever allegiance you hold. The Expanse Season 5 has already been confirmed by Amazon Prime Video.

The renewal came during the summer, with Amazon sharing its support for the series and belief that this was going to do well on the streamer. Saving it from cancellation clearly wasn’t enough to prove this! It turns out the views of the series internationally through Prime must be extremely good and the streamer is sure the fourth season will do well.
Considering the fight fans put up after SYFY canceled the series in June 2018, it’s not all that surprising the series is performing well. Did Amazon really expect anything other from us?
Well, that means we’ve got more of the show. The Expanse Season 5 doesn’t have a set release date yet, but we’re hoping that it’s not going to take as long as the fourth season took. What we do feel is that Naren Shankar is remaining on as the showrunner after steering us successfully throughout the last four seasons. There’s been nothing to say otherwise!
It’s not clear if Season 5 will be the last. Amazon didn’t say it would be at renewal time, but then when The Man in the High Castle Season 4 was picked up, we didn’t know it would be the last until much later. Amazon is likely waiting to see how Season 4 performs to decide on the long-term future of the series, but I don’t envision Season 5 being the last unless Shankar believes it’s time to bring the story to an end.
Telling interesting storylines isn’t going to be a problem. There’s plenty of source material still available!
