When can we watch all episodes of Alex Rider Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video?

If there’s one thing we’re excited about, it’s Alex Rider Season 2. We know it’s definitely happening, but when can we watch Alex Rider Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video?

It’s going to be a while before the second season arrives. Filming hasn’t started yet, although is slated to start before the end of 2020. However, with the pandemic numbers still rising and multiple countries going back into lockdown situations, filming is delayed to January 2021.

Usually, it takes 14-18 months for a new season to head to Amazon Prime Video from the release of the previous season. So, in normal circumstances, we’d be looking at January 2022.

However, Alex Rider isn’t a normal Amazon show. It was released on Amazon Prime Video UK in June 2020. We could work with that date for a timeframe for a release date, which could mean the second season is ready by August 2021.

Don’t get your heart set on any release dates just yet. If filming is delayed further or takes longer than normal to complete (currently planned for 22 weeks), there will be a delay in the release date. With the current plans in mind, the show will probably be released at the end of 2021 at the earliest.

What to expect on Alex Rider Season 2

While we wait for the second season, it’s worth looking at the storyline it will likely follow. The season will probably pick up with the third book in the series, Skeleton Key. It’s the next book after Point Blanc, and there’s absolutely no need for the show to head back to the start of the book series, Stormbreaker.

However, Looper says that the plot will follow the fourth novel, Eagle Strike. This one sees Alex uncover Damian Cray’s plot to take over the U.S. nuclear arsenal. The environmentalist wants to launch nukes into drug-producing countries to eradicate the drug trade around the world. Alex needs to prevent that from happening.
