Will Amazon do the right thing and renew Wayne for Season 2?
When YouTube opted to move away from scripted content, it was disappointing news for many. Fans of Wayne were extremely disappointed learning that their beloved show wouldn’t get a second season.
Showrunner and creator Shawn Simmons was not going to give up without a fight, though. The show looked for a new home, finding one with Amazon Prime Video.

Now that the first season has dropped on Prime, it’s time to look at the hope for its renewal. Will Amazon do the right thing and renew Wayne for a second season?
It certainly needs a second season
The ending of the show (without giving away spoilers) isn’t complete. This is one of those shows that ends with a cliffhanger, with the hope of getting the chance to continue telling the story. It’s no wonder that Simmons was so focused on landing a new home for this beloved show.
And it’s not just about the ending. This is a series that touches on real life. It is a dark comedy, but at the same time, it’s realistic. It’s a story of two teenagers growing up and figuring out who they are in life. They have to figure out how to survive, and not just high school! They literally have to fight for survival at times.

It’s not often you’ll find critics and audiences agreeing on a TV series, but with this one they do. It’s highly rated by both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, making it clear that this is a necessary show.
Even if you have watched the first season on YouTube, you need to tune in for it again on Amazon Prime Video. Leave the reviews on Amazon to share how much you love it. After all, this is where the views count now to get this show renewed.
It would seem odd for Amazon to pick up the first season of a YouTube show and then not renew it. Clearly, there is the thought of renewal. It’s just all about the viewership for Wayne Season 1 on Prime now.
