Did THAT Supe really die during The Boys Season 2, Episode 7?
It shouldn’t need saying but there are spoilers in this post from The Boys Season 2, Episode 7.
The Boys Season 2, Episode 7 certainly brought us some shocking moments. One of those was the big decision by a former member of The Seven.
During the episode, Lamplighter agreed to helping Congress by being a star witness. However, things turned sideways when Hughie encouraged him to help get Starlight out of the Vought prison. It turns out Lamplighter had other plans.
Lamplighter heads straight to the statues
Instead of taking Hughie to the prison cells, Lamplighter headed straight for the conference room. He decided to kill himself with his own powers in front of the statues, thinking his own would still be there.

Is that it? It does seem like a bit of a waste for such a major character. However, his purpose was seemingly met.
He was supposed to be the one to reveal everything that happened at Sage Grove on The Boys. He knew it was a death sentence for him, but he had to do it to put things right. In the end, he decided not to and killed himself.
Fortunately, someone else could be the star witness. Of course, things went a little crazy in the hearing with heads literally exploding. Maybe Lamplighter escaped the intended fate there.
Is Lamplighter really dead on The Boys Season 2?
So, for the big question. Is that really it for Lamplighter?
It seems so. There’s no way he could survive burning himself alive, right? Other Supes saw his body left behind.
Unless he could somehow survive his own powers, there’s no way that he’s coming back. Of course, if you’ve seen Eric Kripke’s series Supernatural, you know the rule is “the dead don’t stay dead.”
