The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 has a tentative filming date

December is not going to be the same. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 won’t be released during the last month of the year. That’s because it hasn’t started filming yet.

The dramedy isn’t set to return to filming until Jan. 7, 2021. It usually films throughout the spring and summer, ready for a winter release. However, that couldn’t happen this year thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to TVLine, series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has confirmed that the show will start filming on Jan. 7. The cast will be in for table reads during December and costume fitting/set production has already started.

These dates are tentative right now. The series films in New York, which is one of the hot spots for the coronavirus. If things get worse before January, we could find the show has to go back on hold for a short while. There will also need to be steps to protect workers, including more visual effects this year.

When will The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 be on Amazon Prime Video?

Of course, the big question you need the answer to. If filming doesn’t start until January 2021, when can we expect the season to premiere? There is a chance it could be available around September or October 2021, but keep in mind that more visual effects will be needed. That takes extra time in the post-production period.

So, we could see the series drop in December 2021. This would be a year later than we initially thought, but whatever it takes to keep everyone safe, right?

I tend to stick with the rule of expecting the longest likely date, so December 2021 or January 2022. If it’s shorter than that, then that’s awesome!

The great news is The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 is still happening. This isn’t a show like The Society or Stumptown, which were canceled after being renewed due to the coronavirus pandemic. We have a lot of questions for the fourth season, so it’s news we’ve needed to hear.
