Upload Season 2 filming will begin in just a few months

We’re definitely getting Upload Season 2. That’s been known since a week after the first season dropped on Amazon Prime Video. However, we have a lot of questions surrounding the second season.

One of those questions is when filming will begin. After all, we can’t have a second season on Prime without the actual filming to happen. According to Comic Book Resources, there isn’t long to wait for filming to start.

Amell says that filming for Upload Season 2 will begin in January 2021. He hasn’t given a specific date, but at least we know there’s not long to wait. Filming takes place in Vancouver, so everyone will start getting ready to head there around Christmas and the New Year. The exact date to film may depend on whether the 14-day quarantine rule for those coming to Canada will still be in place then.

What does the January start date mean for the release of the second season? I wouldn’t expect it until closer to the end of 2021 or even into the start of 2022.

What to expect during Upload Season 2

The writers have been hard at work since finding out the show was renewed. There have also been some new writers joining the team, and Amell says he got a chance to meet them before the coronavirus shut down the world.

Our leading man is certainly positive about the second season. There will be more from the supporting characters, including Kevin Bigley’s Luke and Zainab Johnson’s Aleesha. The two were used more for comedy value, but it’s clear there’s some sort of bond between them. What are the chances that they’ll be the sort who don’t know how much they like each other until they lose each other?

Allegra Edwards’s Ingrid will also become a bigger part of Upload Season 2. This isn’t that surprising considering the way the first season ended. Ingrid uploaded herself to be with Nathan, only to find out that he’d gone to 2gb status. She’ll want to get him back to unlimited data status and get her boyfriend back.
