What is The Church of the Collective’s fascination with Fresca on The Boys?
Fresca, anyone? Just watch out who you’re taking one from when it comes to The Boys.
The Deep took his and has quickly become a member of The Church of the Collective. Not in the original graphic novels, the cult is a parody of Scientology, and it’s clear there is something sinister on the way. What could that “something sinister” be?

Right now, The Church of the Collective is trying to help The Deep connect with his own abilities and accept his body. In a way, this should be a good thing, but this underlying issue of it being a cult is worrisome.
The Church of the Collective has promised to get The Deep back in The Seven. This is the place he feels he needs to be, but will the cult really do what they promise? Is this just a way to get a new member? After all, the members will help to build the religion to keep tax-exempt status, right?
It’s hard to say what the Church of the Collective really wants without the source material to work from. However, it’s possible that this church is going up against Vought in some way and is trying to get as many Supes as possible to do that.
It’s clear The Seven doesn’t like The Church of the Collective, especially Stormfront. Is it a threat or is it just an annoying cult that she sees right through?
Expect more Fresca jokes
Of course, The Deep’s first introduction to the cult was the Fresca. Expect that to keep coming up.
It turns out that it’s nothing special or mindblowing about the real world. The Fresca is simply a running joke that started in the writers’ room. It’s so fun when shows are able to have their inside jokes running and they’re entertaining for the viewers at the same time.
I just don’t think I’ll see Fresca the same again. And my kids choose that one for treat night each month!
