What is Get Duked about?
Originally titled Boyz in the Wood, Get Duked follows a group of four boys who head out on the Duke of Edinburgh Award. They’re there to gain survival skills and experience. Little do they realize that this will become a real fight for survival.
When they’re left alone with a map and compass to get to their campsite, they realize that they’re being hunted. The Duke of Edinburgh is out with his friends hunting for sport. That wouldn’t sound all that strange except that he’s hunting people.
It’s going to remind a lot of people of The Purge or Most Dangerous Game. The difference is that this is all in the wilderness and the prey hasn’t agreed to do this or hasn’t been put on Death Row.
What do the critics say?
The movie was originally released at South By Southwest in 2019. It immediately gained praise from critics, gaining a 96% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes. The general praise is in the writing, which offers both comedy and horror with just the right balance.
