Lamplighter is going to make an appearance during The Boys Season 2
We’ve heard of Lamplighter, but we’ll get to see him on The Boys Season 2. X-Men star Shawn Ashmore is taking on the role.
There’s no doubt that we’re excited. Lamplighter was mentioned a few times during the first season. In fact, we saw him on a screen with the green hood covering his face. He’s the one who retired from The Seven, opening a space for Starlight to join.

However, he is far more important than a retiring member of the team. He’s the reason The Boys broke up the first time, and Mallory shared that Lamplighter had been the one to incinerate her grandchildren. He’s certainly dangerous, and we should be worried that he’s coming back into the fray.
What will Lamplighter do during The Boys Season 2?
It’s unclear what type of role Lamplighter will play exactly. TVLine shared an image of Ashmore in the role, holding a lighter while in The Seven’s headquarters. It’s clear that he’s back with the team, but officially? That’s something we’ll need to wait to see.
Eric Kripke shares a few teases. He shares that Ashmore brings “so much depth, menace, and world weary humanity” to Lamplighter. What exactly does that mean?
We know The Seven doesn’t have a lot of humanity within them. They’re all about the social media following and the money. Starlight is the exception, a younger member who just wants to make the world a better place. We won’t see the same from Stormfront by the looks of the teases we’ve had within The Boys Season 2 trailer.
There’s some hope that we’ll get to know a little more about this character during Prime Rewind: Inside the Boys, an after-show special that’s been created. The first episode premieres ahead of The Boys Season 2, hinting a look back at the first season and potentially some teases of what’s to come.
