We’ll start with one of the shows that has been on PBS Masterpiece up until now. The show is one of those released as part of a limited-time viewing, so you’ve only got this month to check it out as part of your Prime membership.
Les Miserables isn’t based on the musical like the movie. Instead, it’s based on the Victor Hugo novel. If you haven’t read the novel yet, there are elements of the series that will certainly be a surprise compared to the musical, especially when it comes to Fantine’s story.
Blood
Another Amazon Channel offering for the month is Blood. The first season of the Acorn TV Original is available and is perfect for TV crime drama fans.
The first episode opens in Ireland when Cat returns home after her mother’s death. She immediately starts questioning the circumstances around her death, but will those suspicions be taken seriously?
Blood Season 2 is available but only through an Acorn TV subscription.
Jessy & Nessy
If you’re looking for some way to keep the children occupied, you’ll be extremely happy to know that Jessy & Nessy has new episodes coming in August 2020. It’s not clear just how many will be included, but at least it’s some new content.
Jessy is a curious little girl and searches for information with her five-and-a-hlf-year-old purple sea monster Nessy. Jessy sees the world differently thanks to her magical glasses, and the two of them take children through a variety of life’s curiosities.
World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji
Fans of Survivor and The Amazing Race will be excited to hear that there’s a new reality series heading to Amazon Prime Video. World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji puts contestants from all over the world take part in different challenges for a chance to win the cash prize.
At the same time, they’re focused on proving that they are the world’s toughest challengers. You’ll certainly want to tune in towards the end of the month. It’ll be worth the wait.
Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys
Finally, it’s all about The Boys after-show, just ahead of the release of the new season. Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys is hosted by Aisha Tyler and will take us behind the scenes of the crazy series.
We’ll get interviews with various cast members and EP. It’s an opportunity to learn more about the adaptation of the comics. The first episode will also likely include some teases of things to come in the second season.
