Emily has the files on Absentia Season 3, Episode 4

Absentia Season 3, Episode 4 picks up off the back of the previous episode. Sadly, Kai doesn’t survive her injuries from the fall off the upper levels of the mall. However, she does pass Emily the files. Now it’s time for Emily to figure out exactly where Nick is being kept.

After all, Nick is in Europe. That narrows his location down to a continent, but it still doesn’t help much. Europe is a large place.

Emily knows that she needs help, but who can she trust? One thing she works out is that someone is passing Meridian information. Her Quantico file was passed on from someone inside the FBI, so who was it? Was it Gunnarson, who Emily clearly doesn’t trust and decides to punch just before she quits the FBI.

It’s important to note that Emily hasn’t forgiven Gunnarson for killing Alice. Meanwhile, Gunnarson can’t relate to Emily, who Gunnarson views as all guts and instincts according to Gunnarson’s ex.

While we leave others to mull the mole over, Emily focuses on finding Nick. She may not have the FBI’s backing, but she’s not giving up. And she’s not giving up those files.

Nick is in Berlin

Emily and Cal head to a shipping yard where they find a syringe and empty sedatives bottle. Why would someone just leave some evidence there? These aren’t smart bad guys, which doesn’t make sense when they put Nick in a coffin and shipped him to Europe!

Anyway, Emily and Cal look at the shipping log to see that something was authorized by Jericho. Is that a name, a place, what?

At least they have a location the shipment went. They’re off to Berlin.

Poor Nick, though! He’s being tortured, both physically and emotionally. While drugged, he’s shown a variety of images of Emily, his son, and Alice. Then Alice shows up. But she’s dead! Is it someone that looks like her or is this all in his mind? Will she be what breaks him to tell his torturers the truth?

Protecting her son

Emily has other pressing matters on Absentia Season 3, Episode 4. Dawkins is still around and knows that Emily has the files. So, he decides to pay Flynn a visit at swim practice.

Realizing the danger, she sends her dad back to swim practice to get Flynn. Meanwhile, Flynn is smart enough to notice someone is watching him and he hides in a small space in the locker room. Dawkins walks away empty-handed, passing Emily’s dad as he heads to the locker room.

Flynn is safe for now. Emily sends her family across state lines to protect them. Are they going to remain safe considering Meridian has eyes everywhere? Let’s hope so!

One thing I will say is that I love how Emily’s dad quickly sprung into action. He didn’t need explanations. As an ex-cop, he knew that he would have to just get Flynn out of there. I also love that Flynn didn’t argue about anything or feel like Emily was over the top. He knew the dangers and went with his grandpa.

After that, Emily makes a mysterious phone call, refuses to tell Cal what she’s doing (and it seems like he could be the mole), and gets in a car with Dawkins. Of course, that isn’t before she makes a copy of the files she realizes Kai gave her through the prayer beads. There was a drive in those beads, but an access code is needed. Emily does have that, but she does know it’s best to create a copy of the file to give to Dawkins.
