Amazon Prime Video saw the release of Upload at the beginning of May. Now that you’ve had time to binge-watch it, you’ll agree it belongs on this list.
May 2020 has been a great month for Amazon Original content. And it follows on from an excellent April with Tales from the Loop. Upload is the first new Amazon Original show to make it to the streamer, and it is now on the list of 50 best TV shows on Amazon Prime Video.

What makes Upload so great? It comes from the mind of Greg Daniels and has been a passion project for a number of years. However, technology and graphics are only now at a point where the show could be a legitimate success. The graphics certainly show their glitches now and then, but that’s part of the show. Overall, the graphics are grounded; they have a real touch that you would want in such a digital afterlife.
More than that, the story is beautiful. There’s plenty of comedy but it is more of a dramedy. The murder mystery element has you trying to work things out and look for clues throughout the series. Was it Ingrid? Was it Jamie? Who could possibly want Nathan dead?
Then there’s the unconventional relationship forming. Nathan and Nora start to have feelings for each other. However, Nora is a customer service rep (and Nathan’s Angel) and Nathan is dead. It’s not going to be the easiest relationship in the world. Talk about long distance!
From the very first episode, I knew this show warranted a second season. With the cliffhanger we were left with, now I need a second season.
