Will Hunters be renewed for a second season by Amazon Prime?
Hunters Season 1 ended with some shocking twists and major questions. There’s no doubt we need a second season. Does Amazon Prime agree?
One thing that is very hard to tell is whether a streaming service will renew a show for a second season. We’d like to assume good news when it comes to Hunters Season 2, but it’s impossible to say a definite yes or no.
Let’s be honest; we know that Hunters needs a second season. The series ended with a major Argentina twist, after telling us that the man we thought was Jonah’s grandfather was anything but. We ended up with far more questions than we did answers for each of our main characters left alive at the end.

But ending a season with major questions doesn’t guarantee renewal. It’s all about the number of people that binge-watched in the first weekend. Personally, for this season, Amazon should look at the first week. There were moments that were gruesome enough to need to stop watching for the night and pick back up again the next day.
Social media can be a good way to determine how well a show performs, but it’s not perfect. After all, Lucifer and The Expanse fans will know that they can tweet as much as they want but broadcast doesn’t necessarily pay attention. Fortunately, streaming did. Yet Everything Sucks and Daybreak fans didn’t see the same thing happen.
The social media activity for Hunters is also a little quiet. Because of the all-in-one drop, it’s harder to chat to others about a series. You can’t live-tweet at the same time as everyone else like you can with a weekly release.
In short, it’s impossible to tell. Hunters needs and deserves a second season. Now will Amazon Prime listen to the ones who want it?
