Undone: Could Alma control and change time or was it in her head?

Throughout Undone Season 1, Alma questioned whether she could travel through time or it was in her head. Did the finale give us the answers she needed?

Throughout Undone Season 1, Alma had a major question. Was everything happening all in her head? Could she really bend and manipulate time? Was she really traveling, and not just in her own timeline but in others close to her? her father claimed that her car crash opened the ability that she was born with.

The problem is all the information she was getting was from her dad. And her dad was killed in an accident 20 years earlier. Logic would say that she was suffering from some sort of mental illness. After all, before the crash she was bored with her mundane life and wanted something exciting to happen. The idea of time traveling to save her dad would certainly do that.

But what if she did gain some sort of control over time? One thing Undone offered was some explanation as to why Alma could have some control over time. We got her indigenous heritage, her grandmother’s schizophrenia and potential abilities, and moments where it looked like she was controlling and bending time.

There was hope the ending would give us a close as to whether it was all in her head or a real ability. After saving her dad, she waited for him in her own time by a cave in Mexico. He was supposed to step out as the timelines merged.

Did it happen? Alma certainly saw something, but we didn’t get to know what. At the same time, she was alone. It could still all be in her head. We need Undone Season 2 to confirm it all.
