The Tick may be canceled but it isn’t dead yet
Amazon may have canceled The Tick after two seasons, but the show isn’t dead. It’s all about the fans right now as the creator and actors look to save the series.
Ben Edlund shared the sad news that Amazon had canceled The Tick after just two short seasons last week. Naturally, we were all disappointed. However, that doesn’t mean the show is over completely.
It’s all about the fans now. We’ve seen shows saved in the past and now it’s time for fans to come together to save another show. According to The Tick actor Griffin Newman, the cast is still under contract and ready to make another season. Even Edlund shared in the original post about the cancellation that he would be shopping the show elsewhere.

Over the last few years, saving shows from cancellation has become almost the norm. NBC canceled Timeless after its first season and then saved it days later. Lucifer and Brooklyn Nine-Nine were canceled by FOX but saved by Netflix and NBC respectively. SYFY canceled The Expanse but Amazon saved it.
This year hasn’t seen a show get saved from cancellation yet. Sony is in talks with CBS about saving One Day at a Time but nothing has happened just yet. Could The Tick be the one to get picked up at another home?
We’d like to see it. This is one of the most underrated shows on television and that’s partially Amazon’s fault. It’s not had the marketing that The Man in the High Castle, Homecoming, and Hanna have received. It’s not gained the critical recognition that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has. Because of this, not as many people as you would hope have heard about The Tick.
I will admit that right now it seems a bit of a long-shot. Honestly, the show doesn’t have the following that other shows that have been saved do. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. With the cast under contract still, there’s little chance of them moving on just now. They want to make more of the show and we want more of it. Let’s rally to #SaveTheTick.
