Made in Heaven is the newest Indian Prime Original on Amazon Prime Video. Will it be renewed for a second season? It should be!
Amazon Prime Video is on a roll with progressively different Indian shows. Made in Heaven is just the latest and now all eyes are set on whether it will be renewed for a second season.
It certainly should be renewed. Of course, that’s just my opinion but there are many others who have quickly taken to the positivity within the show. One thing that Made in Heaven offers is a look at the non-standard view of Indian culture.

For years, we’ve seen stereotypical shows that don’t always showcase the realities, especially of urban lifestyles. This is a show that offers that. It’s not just a show about two people who run a business together, but about the society, class system, and expectations.

Made in Heaven is one of the first shows from India to deliver a queer storyline with purpose. This is more than just about fitting a current agenda in TV, but about showing the realities of that lifestyle in Indian. Men and women need to remain in the closet. The idea of being themselves is impossible when reputations are on the line. Right or wrong, that is the way that it still is right now, and Made in Heaven showed that brilliantly.
There was the focus on the flashy weddings and the ability to offer a dual-language show that wasn’t off-putting. Plus, we can’t forget the unapologetic women throughout, which is becoming a part of many Indian shows that are performing well. Okay, there were certainly parts of the show that didn’t impress everyone but the majority have rated the series highly.
Hopefully, those same people (and more) have watched the show in full to make it clear that Amazon needs to deliver another season. We need more progressive and positive shows like this.
