Lord of the Rings: Amazon is casting Aragon, The Walking Dead’s Tom Payne is interested
The Walking Dead’s Tom Payne has let it slip that the Lord of the Rings TV series on Amazon Prime Video is casting Aragon and he interested in the part.
Very little is known about the up and coming Lord of the Rings TV series on Amazon Prime Video and there is a good reason for that. Amazon does not want any leaks to emerge about its Prime Original, which is expected to be bigger than Game of Thrones. However, we do have one leak to share thanks to The Walking Dead’s Tom Payne.
The actor, who up until The Walking Dead Season 8 appeared as Jesus, made it know that Amazon is currently casting for the role of Aragon in the Lord of the Rings TV series. He may be interested in the role.

During the Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast the conversation moved to what Tom Payne has planned next now that he has come out of The Walking Dead. He was also asked about his signature Jesus hair and whether he would be chopping it off anytime soon and this was when he dropped the bombshell about Lord of the Rings.
"There aren’t that many actors with hair like this. And Amazon are casting Aragorn and they’re doing Interview With The Vampire on Hulu so there’s all these good jobs."
With all the secrecy currently surrounding the Prime Original series, there is no way to currently verify what Tom has said. Neither Amazon or the Lord of the Rings has made any announcements about the series other than its being produced.
It stands to reason that Tom is correct in what he has said because then you need to ask why he would make it up? It also stands to reason that the Aragon would appear in the Lord of the Rings TV series somewhere considering how pivotal a character he is in the book series.
