Netflix has released its second season of Marvel’s The Punisher. While it may be a Netflix series, it doesn’t quite follow the usual Netflix rules. Will you be able to get The Punisher Season 2 on Amazon?
I know the usual thought is “definitely not” but I’ll admit I was surprised when I did some digging. it turns out that the second season may be eventually available on Amazon since The Punisher Season 1 is available for purchase.

You can get the individual episodes from Amazon for $2.99 each at the time of writing this. The first season isn’t available on DVD or Blu-ray, but that may come with time. After all, fellow Netflix-Marvel shows like Iron Fist and Daredevil are available on DVD and Blu-ray.
Unlike Amazon, Netflix tends to release some of its bigger titles in DVD format. You can usually get the titles for a previous season at the same time as a new season release or a month or so afterward. Fuller House Season 3 comes to DVD and Blu-ray this month with Season 4 being available on Netflix in December 2018, for example.
We may see The Punisher Season 1 on DVD and Blu-ray in February 2019 or a little later. There’s no guarantee of this, though.
When The Punisher Season 2 has had a chance to stream fully on Netflix and get plenty of eyeballs, there’s a chance Netflix will allow other streaming services to make episodes available to buy. This won’t be the case until probably the end of this year. If Netflix surprises everyone by renewing the show (all expect to see The Punisher canceled like other Netflix-Marvel shows) then it may take a little longer.
All I can say for certain for the foreseeable is that The Punisher will not come to Amazon Prime Video as part of your membership.
