Lore Season 2 only dropped on Friday but we’re already looking to the future. Will Lore Season 3 happen? Could Amazon choose to renew the true-legend series?

Lore Season 2 dropped on Friday and immediately became a must-watch season. With a new showrunner in charge, the feeling to the series completely changed in a good way. It kept the horror of the podcast but brought a mini-movie style to it. Now fans want to know if Amazon will give us Lore Season 3?

Obviously, I can’t say yes or no for certain because I just don’t know. It may take a couple of months to learn if the third season will be ordered or not. Lore Season 1 dropped on Oct. 13, 2017, but it wasn’t until February 2018 that the second season was ordered.

That’s not to say Amazon didn’t quietly renew it before this. For example, The Man in the High Castle Season 4 was already beginning filming when the renewal was made official. So, it is possible that we won’t find out about Lore Season 3 until then. This is something Bustle agrees with me about.

Lore Season 3 should happen, in my opinion. The second season was a strong one, bringing stories from around the world and a mixture of 17th-century legends, unsolved true crimes, and so much more. With two episodes also not on the podcast, this season helped to make the show stand apart from its original iteration. Lore will always start with the podcast, but the series is a fun form for those who adore visuals more than audio.

If Lore is renewed for a third season, there’s a strong chance that we’ll have Sean Crouch still in the driving seat. He was extremely excited about this second season dropping while at NYCC and it gives him the chance to explore a genre he clearly adores–especially if The Exorcist is anything to judge.

It’s not like there aren’t any stories to tell. The world is made up of plenty of legends, dark tales, and true crime stories still to be solved. Aaron Mahnke’s podcast alone as 98 episodes at the time of writing this and he likely has many more that he’d love to do but wouldn’t work for the podcast.

With plenty of tales, there’s no reason for Amazon not to renew. Now it just relies on the amount of people who have watched Lore Season 2 all the way through to make it clear to Amazon that this is a series wanted by the people.
