American Gods is gearing up for its second season. To help promote it, the cast and showrunners are heading to New York Comic-Con for the very first time.

The Starz and Amazon Prime Original series, American Gods, is getting ready for its second season. There have been a few bumps in the way, but it won’t be too long before it arrives. Before that, there’s a special announcement. The series is heading to New York Comic-Con for the very first time.

New York is a slightly smaller version of San Diego Comic-Con and is popular with other Starz and Amazon shows. This year will also see the Outlander cast for the very first time (showrunner Ron Moore was there for the series in 2014) and last year saw The Man in the High Castle drop a teaser for its third season during the long weekend.

American Gods Season 2 will see the battle between the Old Gods and New continue. We learned about the Gods in the first season, when Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) became the bodyguard to Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). The Old Gods fear the technology, media, and other growth of the New Gods.

Mr. Wednesday will continue his pitch for war to the Old Gods. Shadow Moon and others have no choice but to go with him. However, things aren’t going to work out and they will all end up on a journey through Middle America.

There’s still no set release date for American Gods Season 2. However, it is expected in early 2019. Considering it’s a Starz Original, it may take over Outlander’s Sunday night spot once that show ends for the season sometime in February or March 2019.

American Gods Season 1 is currently available on Amazon Prime and the Starz App.
