What can you expect in the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection?

Can you believe Bugs Bunny is 80 this year? Nope, neither can we. To celebrate, Warner Bros. has brought the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection.

What can you expect inside the boxset? We’ve got all you need to know in this Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection review.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions are my own.

Episodes from the ages

It all starts with 60 shorts. Each disc has 20 shorts available, including Bugs Bunny Gets the BoidBaseball Bugs, and Hare-bian Nights.

You’ll get many of your favorite shorts from throughout the years. Whether you watched when the series was in its younger years or you’ve watched the cartoons during the ’90s, there are certainly some firm favorites.

And it’s not all about Bugs. Of course there are some shorts focused on Elmer Fudd. But the main focus is the Wascally Wabbit who turns 80 this year.

Bonus content on the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection

Like many other DVD boxsets, there are bonus features included. There’s a documentary titled Bugs Bunny’s 80th What’s Up Doc-umentary! and you’ll get a digital copy of all 60 shorts. This is a Blu-ray and Digital combo boxset after all.

You’ll also get a letter from Jerry Beck, the animation historian. It’s a beautiful introduction to the series, bringing plenty of nostalgia.

There’s absolutely no excuse not to see all the shorts. The kids will love them, even if they have somehow missed out on Bugs Bunny in the past. It’s time to educate them on one of the greatest cartoon characters of all time.

All 10 Loony Tunes Cartoons episodes are also included. The 10 episodes were released recently on HBO Max, and are the new series focused on the family favorites. It’s a new chance to introduce Daffy, Tweety, and more to your family.

And for those who love collectibles to mark special occasions, there is an addition in the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection. You’ll get a glittery Bugs Bunny Funko figure. He has his iconic carrot and a top hat ready to dazzle.

How much and where from?

The Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection is available from all retailers, including Amazon. With Amazon, you grab the price guarantee as you can only pre-order at the time of writing this. The official release is on Dec. 1, 2020.

The retail price is $74.99, although look out for the price to drop in the run-up. This is why you want the price guarantee in place.

You can already purchase the shorts on Digital only. I’d recommend waiting for the full boxset, though. It’ll make the perfect Christmas gift for the big and little kids in the house.
