The option you choose will depend on what you’re going to use your Prime for. If you want the constant free shipping and know you always want access to Amazon Prime Video, you’ll want to take advantage of the slightly lower price by signing up yearly.

If this is a test run or you’re only signing up for a short-term need, the monthly cost could work out cheaper.

There are student options that will reduce the price by about 50%. You’ll need to have a .edu email address to sign up for this.

Don’t want Amazon Prime but do want Amazon Prime Video? You can sign up just for the streaming service, so you only have access to the TV and movies.

If you want free shipping, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, and other Prime benefits, you’ll want the full package. But if it’s only about streaming, you can spend just $8.99 per month for Amazon Prime Video on its own.
