Loyalty is tested in this Utopia deleted scene from Amazon Prime Video
It’s not often we get bonus features from Amazon Originals. Things are slowly changing, with The Boys recently sharing the Season 1 blooper reel and now Utopia releasing a deleted scene.
The deleted scene takes place sometime between Jessica putting the funnel into Becky’s throat after one of her seizures and the events of the finale. That’s clear from the scarf Becky is wearing and the fact that Jessica shows up at the end of the deleted scene. What’s not clear is exactly where in the story this scene takes place within that timeframe.

Becky wants to make a deal for Utopia in the deleted scene
The scene shows Becky walking into a dark room. A collector is there, a man who is collecting all the “lasts” of various comic books. He wants Utopia because it’s the apparent last in the series. The creator is presumed dead, which means no more from this dystopian future.
Becky will make a trade for one thing: pills. It looks like there’s some sort of cure for Becky’s illness. Okay, maybe not a cure but something to preserve her life for a little longer. All Becky wants to do is live.
Will she make the trade? Check out how it all plays out in the deleted scene:
Should it have been left in? I’m in two minds, as it would depend on what would follow this. Was there something in a script about others finding out Becky was going to trade Utopia for pills? Did it have a knock-on effect on Becky and Jessica’s relationship?
It almost feels like this deleted scene would have happened before Michael tested the rabbit for the virus. Jessica and Becky had a conversation about why Becky wanted to even live in a world where Jessica is just surviving. That conversation could have made meant a lot more with the deleted scene.
But overall, it adds nothing necessary to the series. It’s a fun bonus feature on YouTube.
