5 big questions after watching Lovecraft Country Season 1, Episode 8

Storylines are converging. Relationships are being tested. It’s time to look back at Lovecraft Country Season 1, Episode 8 for the questions developed for the next episode.

There are just two episodes left of the season. It’s certainly not surprising that the storylines are starting to join together. Some relationships are put on the line while others have become closer. On top of that, truths are out and more magic is being shared.

Here are the top five questions after watching Lovecraft Country Episode 8.

Where is Hippolyta?

During the previous episode, Hippolyta went through a portal and through time. She experienced different lives, getting to know who she really is. At the end, she was given the chance to join the alien beings she met, but she chose to return to Earth because Dee needs her.

However, Hippolyta hasn’t ended up back on Earth. Tic has brought the car back and hidden it, telling Dee that Hippolyta is still on the road. So, what’s really happened to Dee’s mother?

What’s happened to Dee?

Dee isn’t really considering that right now. Montrose stopped her from fighting the creatures that were after her, and the creatures got a hold of her. I will say that the two actresses playing the creatures were brilliantly creepy, but I’m left with a lot of questions about Dee.

Has she been dragged to hell? Can Montrose help against something he can’t see? Will Christina be able to or willing to help? Maybe Leti can help heal.

What is Christina’s endgame?

Speaking of Christina, we have to touch on what she wants out of all this, apart from immortality which she claims to want. She has Ruby on her side through magic and offering Ruby everything she’s wanted.

She refused to make Tic invisible, but she did agree to making Leti invisible. She also shared that the spell allows Leti to heal people. Does that mean Christina wants Tic to remain alive or is it all about Dee?

Does Tic have his own protection?

Tic says that Christina is going to kill him. He and Montrose cast a spell to protect Tic, but it didn’t seem to work. That was until the police shot at Tic and the creature came from the ground and ate everyone.

Does this mean the spell did work? Does Tic now have his own guard dog? Hopefully, that means Christina can be stopped.

Can Ji-ah do anything to help Tic?

Ji-ah has seen Tic’s death, but she says she doesn’t know he it happens. Now brings the question of why Ji-ah even traveled to Chicago, then. It’s not like she knows when it will happen so can’t exactly stop it.

Leti brought up that it’s because Ji-ah loves Tic. That may be so, but Leti also isn’t really listening to anything Tic is saying. That’s a huge problem with the characters in this series. They’re hearing what they want to hear not what’s actually being said.

So, can Ji-ah really do anything or has she just turned up to cause trouble?
