The Boys spin-off: What we know about the college-set series so far
Everything we know about The Boys spin-off so far
There’s some excellent news for fans of The Boys who want more from the universe. The Boys spin-off is in the works, officially picked up by Amazon Prime.
We don’t have many details about the spin-off just yet. Variety shared the exciting news, saying that the show has been put on the fast-track thanks to the huge ratings the second season has seen. Despite some viewers complaining about the weekly release, the ratings have seen an 89% increase from the first season—and those ratings were excellent.
It’s no wonder that Amazon wants to bring a spin-off. Keep the universe going.
The Boys spin-off is a college-set series
We’ll get to see young superheroes learning to control their powers and managing everything that comes with their powers and abilities. Oh yes, there will be a lot of hormones within the series, which will lead to a lot more R-rated content.

It’s been described as “part college show, part Hunger Games,” which certainly leaves a lot for the imagination. Just how many people are wiped out while at college?
The college is run by Vought International (of course) and is the only college of its kind. That could mean Supes from around the world. I guess that will depend on whether Stormfront has managed to succeed in her war. We’ll have to wait for The Boys Season 2 finale on Friday to find out.
Craig Rosenberg will run the show
While Eric Kripke is the showrunner on the main series, The Boys spin-off will have Craig Rosenberg take the reins. He is also writing the pilot episode. Amazon has already picked it up without seeing the pilot.
Rosenberg is already familiar with the universe. He is currently a writer and executive producer on the flagship series. The spinoff will also see Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg as executive producers.
There’s no need to worry about focus being taken from the main series. After all, The Boys Season 3 has been confirmed, and we know Soldier Boy will play a part in that story. We don’t know if all members of The Seven will return for Season 3 just yet.
Will we see any of the characters from the main series show up? Homelander may step in to give a talk, or maybe that will be passed onto another member of The Seven. There’s also a chance that Stan Edgar could show up if discussions about the college are needed. It’s going to be fun to speculate.
