After an eventful few weeks, we have a quieter week of DVD and Blu-ray releases

It’s time for another week of DVD and Blu-ray releases. We’ve had a busy August and most of September of releases, but this week is going to be on the quieter week. What can you get this week?

There are four new releases this week. Three of them are TV shows, which isn’t all that surprising. This is the traditional time for TV shows to be released on DVD, getting fans ready for the fall season. While this fall isn’t going to be the same, there’s no need to change the DVD release. However, only one of the releases is a “fall” show. The other two are shows that were released earlier this year.

More from Amazon

The fall TV series is Charmed. The second season of the CW reboot is heading to DVD and Blu-ray this week. It’s a little like a reboot of a reboot, with the story being set in a new city with new powers and new demons. All that starts in the first couple of episodes, and there’s a fun journey to go on throughout the 19 episodes of the season.

Stargirl Season 1 is heading to DVD this week. The new CWverse series has been the show for the new generation. While somewhat predictable, it was a great story for the family.

Then there’s Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. While there is only one season, this SHOWTIME series is a must to understand more about history and other cultures. It’s hard viewing at times, reminding us of darker times.

The fourth release of the week

The fourth is a movie starring Michael Jai White. Welcome to Sudden Death is out on Sept. 29, which focuses on a tech-based terror attack at a basketball game. The situation turns into a hostage one, with security guards attempting to prevent lives being lost.

It’s a sequel to Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 1995 movie. There’s a lot of action and a lot of carnage for those who like those types of movies.
