Chemical Hearts and The Boys among most watched titles on Prime in August 2020
What were the most-watched titles on Amazon Prime Video last month?
Each month, Amazon tells us what viewers have watched the most. The list of most-watched titles on Amazon Prime Video in August 2020 may surprise many.
The list is mostly made up of the new releases throughout August. That makes the most sense. After all, streaming services see the burst of interest in new releases and then viewers move on. It’s no wonder shows like The Boys are moving to weekly releases to keep the conversation going.
However, there are a couple of surprises. One is a show that was released in 2019.
The biggest surprise on the list
The Boys made it to No. 3 on the list of most-watched titles on Amazon Prime Video. If that was for September 2020, there’s no way it would have been a surprise. After all, the second season was released on Sept. 4.

But this is where the surprise will come. The second season wasn’t released until September. That means the first season was among the most-watched titles, and that season was released in July 2019.
It’s clear that viewers have been excited about the second season. Many have binge-watched the first season just to get a reminder of where everyone is.
Get Duked made it to the list
There are a couple of other surprises based on when the titles were released. World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji was released in the middle of the month. And there were 10 episodes to the season. If each episode is counted as one, it’s no wonder that it made it to the top of the list.
However, Get Duked! also made it onto the list, and in a respectable fourth place. The Amazon Original movie wasn’t originally on the list of new releases in August, and it wasn’t released until Aug. 28.
When you watch the movie, you’ll see why so many people watched right away. It just goes to show what good marketing and a need for satirical British comedy can do.
