The biggest questions after watching Lovecraft Country Episode 2

Lovecraft Country didn’t drag the mansion storyline out for too long. Of course, we know nothing is over. We have some major questions after Lovecraft Country Episode 2.

There was a lot going on in that second, terrifying episode. Atticus found his father, we learned more about the Sons of Adam, and we found out why Atticus was needed at the house. Oh, and there was a little bit about those monsters in the woods.

Of course, while the ending looked like the situation with the house was over, that’s not likely the case. Are the Braithwaites really gone? Let’s get into these questions after Lovecraft Country Episode 2.

What happened to the Braithwaites?

We watched as Tic managed to turn everyone in the ceremony to stone. That included Samuel Braithwaite, who made it clear that he wanted to get to the Garden of Eden for eternal life. Those stone status were destroyed with the house falling down, but Samuel wasn’t the only Braithwaite in the house.

His daughter was in the house but not at the ceremony. We saw her deliver a baby creature. Is it possible that she got out alive and will come back for revenge? Or maybe, she’ll want to join forces with Tic and everyone else to bring an end of the Braithwaite problems.

Who was the Black woman leading Tic out?

What a powerful scene as the house crumbled. The Black woman locked eyes with Tic and lead him to the doorway. From there, she disappeared, knowing that her descendent was free. It sent chills down my spine watching this Black woman lead her descendent to freedom, safety, and family.

But who was she? Was this the slave who started Tic’s lineage? Will we revisit that?

We probably will. Joaquina Kalukango played the role, and she’s billed for a few more episodes. The Black woman was called Hanna, by the way. I can’t wait to learn more from this HBO Max series!

What’s the real deal with Eden?

Okay, so Eden is supposed to be a place for Samuel to go and gain eternal life. He needed Tic to open the Garden because of Tic’s blood.

However, Hanna showing up as the Garden was opened suggests that the Garden is more of a prison. What is the real deal with Eden?

What will Tic and his friends/family do next?

Tic gained what he wanted when he initially visited the house. He got his father back. Well, it turns out that Montrose may not be his biological father, but he’s the man that Tic believes is his father. And the mission is complete.

Everyone will likely go back home. There’s just a huge problem. Uncle George has died of his wounds. Are they going to stick around and look for Christina Braithwaite to see if she can help?

Is Uncle George really dead?

It all comes back to Uncle George. You do not put an actor like Courtney B. Vance into a show as one of the main characters and then kill him off two episodes in. Not when there’s still so much to learn! Lovecraft Country is not Game of Thrones!

So, what’s going to happen? How can they get Uncle George back? Or will this be how we learn more about the Braitewaites and Hanna?
