Everything we know about Utopia on Amazon Prime Video to far
Hands up if you’re ready for a new series. Of course you are! There’s some great news because Amazon Prime Video is bringing new original Utopia to the streaming service next month.
The official trailer is now out. It’s time to break down everything we know about this new series, including the official release date and the cast attached. And what a cast it is!
The series is about a group of people who find each other online. They all realize that an underground graphic novel with a cult following tells everyone what will happen in the world. These people need to protect the world while avoiding some government agency that’s now targeted them.
Utopia release date
The first season will drop on Sept. 25 on Amazon Prime Video. It should be the full season. Amazon doesn’t look to be testing out weekly releases for all its shows. The Boys is a one-off linked to just how much action there is in each individual episode and the after-show special we’re getting.

There are nine episodes to the first season, which is a little different from normal. Usually, we get eight or 10.
The series was originally set to go to HBO, but due to a financial dispute, it never happened. Instead, Amazon Prime Video picked up the series. It is based on the British series but will have less violence.
Utopia cast
An outstanding cast is attached to the series. Rainn Wilson of The Office fame will play Michael Stearns, while John Cusack will play Dr. Kevin Christie.
Sasha Lane, Ashleigh LaThrop, Farrah Mackenzie, Cory Michael Smith, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Bernard Gilbert, Desmin Borges, and Dan Byrd are also connected to the series.

Utopia trailer
During Comic-Con@Home, the first teaser trailer for the series was released. It gave us just an insight into the story.
Now we have a full-length trailer, which shows us the humor but also the drama within the show. It certainly gives us something to look forward to.
Utopia synopsis
The series is based on the British program of the same name. A group of young adults find themselves tasked with saving the world. It’s all linked to a cult underground graphic novel that may or may not predict the future.
Of course, not everyone believes that the graphic novel predicts anything. The young adults need to find each other online and then figure out a way to meet up safely.
Throughout the series, the group will have a target on its back. A deep-state organization has an agenda the group threatens.
Along the journey, the group of adults will learn far more about themselves and each other.
