Absentia has moved on the list of 50 best TV shows on Amazon Prime Video

Absentia is, by far, one of the best TV shows on Amazon Prime Video. After the third season, it deserves a higher place on the list.

The show already sat in 26th place on the list. This third season has pushed it up the list closer to the top. You can check out the entire list of 50 best TV shows on Amazon Prime Video to see where Absentia now is.

What’s so great about it? Those who have watched it will definitely not need me to answer that. Those who are still to see it will probably want to know why it’s one of the most raved about crime dramas.

Full of character development for everyone

Absentia is one of those shows that is so perfectly written, it’s hard to find a reason not to watch it. One of the strongest bits is the character development, and not just for the lead characters. Of course, we need some great development for Stana Katic’s Emily Byrne. If that character fell flat, the series wouldn’t work.

The writers do get her just right. We consistently see her dealing with PTSD. When she needs to push through, she manages it, but she also opens up to people she trusts. Then there are times she pulls power from the trauma, making her a better agent.

She’s not the only one who has had some brilliant development over the years. Nick Durand has dealt with so much loss and trauma, and yet he’s kind, loving, and supportive. Flynn is such a brilliant mixture of his mom and dad, and yet he also has some of the good traits Alice had. He’s had to deal with so much and he’s come out the other side as a stronger, kinder young man.

We’ve got to know each of the side characters. We’ve fallen in love with them, we’ve supported them with their hunches, and we’ve been shocked by the twists, turns, and deceit.

A storyline that keeps on giving

The Absentia writers haven’t fallen flat with seasons. Usually, the second and third season of a TV show can be a struggle. The first season was so awesome that the writers couldn’t manage under the pressure. That’s not the case for our team of writers for this series.

In my opinion, the third season has been the strongest of the three seasons so far. And there’s so much hope for a fourth season. We’re just waiting for the renewal.

There’s no way Absentia can’t be on the list of 50 best TV shows on Amazon Prime Video.
