12 DVD and Blu-ray releases are happening this week: Aug. 11

NCIS: NOLA and more are getting DVD and Blu-ray releases this week

August is often a great month for DVD and Blu-ray releases. This is when the TV shows release their previous seasons, getting fans ready for the fall. This week is no exception.

In fact, the last two weeks have been no exception. We’ve had NCIS Season 17, Hawaii Five-0‘s final season, and The Good Doctor Season 3 all release on DVD. Last week even saw three surprise drops on Aug. 4 with The Neighborhood Season 2, Last Man Standing Season 8, and The Resident Season 3 all coming to DVD.

So, what about this week ahead?

The notable DVD and Blu-ray releases

There’s no way we can overlook NCIS: New Orleans Season 6. The last of the three NCIS shows will head to DVD and Blu-ray this week. It’s a heartbreaking season for fans of one particular original character, but I have to say I’m rather enjoying Charles Michael Davis on the show.

Another notable addition is The Blacklist Season 7. The series picks up with Red a captive of Katarina Rostova. Oh yes, she is alive after all this time! Will Liz choose Red or Katarina when it all comes down to it? This is a special season as the finale is one that mixes live-action with graphic novel animation due to the coronavirus.

When it comes to movies, The High Note is coming to DVD and Blu-ray. The movie was only released recently as one of Universal’s straight-to-VOD releases during the pandemic. Now it’s time to watch it over and over again for one price.

If you loved the Nickelodeon series Are You Afraid of the Dark, you’ll be happy to hear the reboot is heading to DVD and Blu-ray. This isn’t quite the Midnight Society you remember, but it’s still just as chilling and fun to watch.
