The Great Season 1 is heading to DVD on Oct. 20, 2020. There isn’t too much longer to wait for it, and you can already preorder The Great on DVD through Amazon. You’ll get the Price Guarantee, so you only pay the lowest that the boxset will drop to. There is no Blu-ray option, and it’s not clear if that is going to come later or not at all.

What is The Great about
The Great is a satire about Catherine the Great, the Russian empress who killed her husband and became the longest-reigning woman in Russia. You’ve likely seen the aftermath through the HBO miniseries, but this Hulu comedy is focused on Catherine’s younger years, when she first marries and moves to Russia.
Catherine has never been in love but is a romantic. Sadly, she realizes that romance isn’t going to happen. Her husband Peter is an awful man to her and to his people.
Feeling hopeless, Catherine doesn’t know what to do. That’s when her servant suggests that they plot to overthrow Peter. After that, we follow her through the journey of collecting supporters to win.
It is violent at times. It’s a dark comedy, so it’s certainly not for everyone. But if you loved binge-watching on Hulu, you’re going to want to add it to your DVD collection.
Despite being billed a miniseries, The Great has been renewed for a second season.
