The Star Trek: Picard Season 1 DVD release date is set for October 2020

There were some questions when CBS announced a Star Trek revival with Jean-Luc Picard. However, it was soon clear we had nothing to worry about. Star Trek: Picard Season 1 was everything we needed and more.

It will soon be time to own the season on DVD and Blu-ray. The official release date is set for Oct. 6, 2020, and you can currently pre-order it on Amazon. With that, you’ll grab the Price Guarantee. The price has already dropped by about $5 for both DVD and Blu-ray, so now is a good time to pre-order.

Right now, the Digital version isn’t available. That’s because it’s still exclusive to CBS All Access. You’ll need to get the $5.99 per month subscription if you want to rewatch it. However, it will likely be released on Digital when the DVD release happens.

What is Star Trek: Picard about?

Sir Patrick Stewart returns to the role of Jean-Luc Picard. He’s living a quiet life after retiring. That all changes when a woman named Dahj comes to find him.

However, things don’t quite work out when she’s killed. Now Picard has to investigate into the mystery of Dahj, figuring out what role she plays in the Federation. There’s far more to this mystery than initially meets the eye.

There are some great character returns from the past. The best thing is they all work well into the narrative and aren’t added just for the sake of it. Star Trek fans old and new will be able to follow along.
