You’ve binge-watched the whole of Absentia Season 3 by now. And, of course, you need more. We all do. So, will we see Absentia Season 4 happen?
Right now, there hasn’t been a decision on the future of the show. That’s not all that surprising. The fourth season has only just been released on Amazon Prime Video in select areas. It’s going to be on Sony’s pay television channel, AXN, in some other locations.

One thing is for certain, there needs to be more. While some may want easy-to-watch shows, there’s also a place for dark thrillers that make us think and feel. The latter is exactly what Absentia Season 4 offers.
So, what are the chances of the show being renewed?
The decision is not in Amazon Prime Video’s hands
The series is an AXN show and not an Amazon Prime Video one, technically. That means it’s not really a decision for Amazon to make. Amazon licenses the series in the United States, the United Kingdom, and some other areas.
However, the success in various markets will certainly help determine whether the show will be renewed or not. AXN will likely especially pay attention to the U.S. viewership on Prime.
With how popular the show is on social media, there’s a lot of hope that the series will be renewed for a fourth season. Stana Katic is the queen and she deserves to keep telling the story of Emily Byrne. The fight isn’t over yet!
When will we likely hear about Absentia Season 4?
Of course, renewals from AXN aren’t as fast as Amazon’s own renewals. We won’t likely find out within 10 days of release like we did about Hanna Season 3.
It took three months for the third season to be picked up. We could look at about the same timeframe for the fourth season.
