Emily demands to be part of the investigation on Absentia Season 3, Episode 2

Absentia Season 3 is wasting no time in getting into the action. Emily may have been stabbed in the abdomen during the previous episode, but that’s not going to stop her leading the charge to find Nick. Here’s our recap of Absentia Season 3, Episode 2.

We start off with the benefit of calling someone to say what you’re doing. Cal knew to get to Emily’s house, which led to her getting to the hospital in time. All patched up, Nick warns her to take it easy. You know Emily can’t do that. She can’t let Flynn lose anyone else. The poor kid has been through so much already!

So, it’s not surprising that she’s on the hunt for Nick’s source. Seeing a rosary, she thinks of the prayer beads the source had around her wrist. Some convenient writing puts her at the exact church she needs with the place that offers support to people in need. That leads her to the source, Kai.

Getting to the man with the white eye

Kai knows exactly who attacked Nick from the description of the man with the white eye. She gives Emily the password needed to get into the illegal fighting room and there she finds the man. Drugging him, she stabs him in the abdomen and forces him to tell her where Nick has been taken.

On the way to the location, there’s a car that almost runs Emily off the road. That car is relevant later. It turns out the car was one that an injured Nick was in after someone came in, shot the men torturing Nick, and took him away.

Now Emily is back at square one.

Well, not really. They get a name.

Cal knows something he’s not sharing

We’ve always known Cal has secrets. They haven’t been relevant until now. Absentia Season 3, Episode 2 makes it clear his secrets are linked to a European criminal organization known as Meridian. And it’s Meridian that has Nick.

Gunnarson isn’t happy that Cal refuses to share anything. The information in his file is redacted. So, was he an inside source? Did he have dealings with them on a deeper level? Hopefully, we don’t find out that Cal has been playing the FBI all this time. Please don’t do that! He’s been a great partner to Emily and I need to know that she has had the right friends in times of need.

Ending with a bang

Absentia Season 3, Episode 2 doesn’t take too long to get the FBI to a location where someone who took Nick is supposed to be. They need to find out if Nick is in there too.

Just as they head to the building, a bomb goes off. Does that mean Nick is dead? Probably not, but it certainly amps up the search and we’re only two episodes in!
