It’s another weekend, which means you’re looking for great content to watch. Whatever you’re in the mood for, here are 5 good movies on Amazon Prime Video this weekend, May 9-10.

Are you ready for another weekend of great movies to watch? Amazon Prime Video has you covered, with new releases during the week and still an excellent selection from the first-of-the-month drop. Here are five great options for the weekend of May 9 to 10.

We try to offer something for everyone. There isn’t much for those with young children this weekend, though.

5. The Hustle

We’ll start with a light comedy. For fans of Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway, The Hustle is a must-watch. Sure, it’s predictable, but that isn’t always a bad thing. You’re probably at the stage of lockdown where you don’t want to think and you’re not ready for some of the harder content available (Outlander‘s Season 5 finale is going to be harrowing), so go for something like The Hustle.

4. Night Train Murders

If you are looking for content that’s violent and darker, Night Train Murders is something to watch. The 1975 movie dropped on Amazon Prime Video on May 1 but you may have overlooked it.

Also titled, Last Stop on the Night Train, the Italian movie focuses on one man’s quest of revenge. He offers brutal justice against the people who hurt his daughter and her classmate during their train trip from Germany to Italy.

3. Escape from Alcatraz

Another great movie from the 70s now on Amazon Prime Video is Escape from Alcatraz. It focuses on convict Frank, who decides he’s going to escape from the prison that has proven impossible for so many others in the past. Can he get free? What happens when he does get away?

This is slightly lighter than Night Train Murders, but it’s not as light as The Hustle. However, it’s got a great story and is based on truth.

2. Jimmy O. Yang comedy special

Okay, so it’s not a movie per se, but it sort of counts. As a comedy special, you’ll get an hour or so of entertainment and that’s it. It feels a little like a movie in the end.

Jimmy O. Yang is best known for his role on HBO’s Silicon Valley but now he’s taking to the stage as a stand-up comic. Topics include Matt Damon, ghosts, and his immigrant parents.

1. The Goldfinch

Finally, there’s a movie that will leave you with a few thoughts but isn’t as harrowing as some of the other content right now. The Goldfinch focuses on a boy who is trying to deal with the loss of his mom. And that loss was under tragic circumstances—through a bombing at an art gallery.

It’s based on the novel by Donna Tartt. Whether you’ve read the book or not, this is a movie to watch this weekend.
