Nathan decides it’s time to leave Lake View and shop other digital afterlives. Meanwhile, Nora goes on a mission to LA to save Nathan on Upload Season 1, Episode 8.

Nora is suspended on Upload Season 1, Episode 8. A conversation between Nathan and Nora’s avatar controlled by Lucy leads to Nathan deciding it’s time to shop other digital afterlives. However, that almost causes him to be destroyed. Here’s a look at the events from the episode.

We pick up with Lucy finding out that Nathan knows Nora’s name. We can thank one of Nora’s coworkers for that—the one who allows the digital uploads to relive their memories. Nathan likes to relive things from Lake View because of Nora and she just had to tell Lucy what she found out. It leads to Nora being suspended, which could be a blessing in disguise.

When Lucy uses Nora’s avatar to trick Nathan into sharing his feelings—and then shoots him down—Nathan decides there’s nothing in Lake View anymore. He doesn’t want to be Ingrid’s puppet, so he asks him mom to take him digital afterlife shopping.

That means putting him on a hard drive, and there’s a huge focus on upselling the protective cases. You know this is going to become a problem.

When Nora learns that Nathan is shopping digital afterlives, she goes to LA to find Ingrid. Ingrid and Nora head to the digital afterlife company that Nathan’s mom is using, and Ingrid offers to take Nathan’s hard drive back.

Nora takes one of the travel agent’s broken drives to give to Ingrid while giving Nathan’s mom Nathan’s hard drive. It’s lucky because the hard drive Ingrid is holding is stolen from her and thrown into a fountain. It would have destroyed Nathan entirely, except that Nora had the right drive.

Because of Nora’s choice to visit Ingrid, Nora gets a glowing review to Lucy’s boss. That gets Nora reinstated at work so she’s able to visit Nathan and tell him that he needs to break up with Ingrid before he tells Nora anything about his feelings.

While all this is happening, Nora has also found out something about Josh Pitzer. The last text he received was Nathan’s upload ID. Why would he need that and who sent it?
