It’s hard to tell when it comes to Amazon Originals. Some of them do make their way to DVD and Blu-ray, but most don’t. When it comes to TV shows, most are only available through the streaming service. The same is likely to be the case for the new Greg Daniels series.
There’s no need for Amazon to bring the series to DVD and Blu-ray. By keeping the show exclusive to the streamer, it encourages fans to keep their subscription. You need the subscription if you want to relive the episodes and the experience as a whole.
With more streaming services coming out, Amazon is going to want to keep as many subscribers as possible. Exclusive content is the way to go.
Upload is going to be a show worth keeping the subscription for. When you watch it a second or third time, there are going to be elements that you didn’t catch the first time. You’ll find things happening in the background that you didn’t notice or there will be code glitches that become clearer with subsequent viewings.
It’s one of those shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation, which makes sense considering who created it. Now head off to Amazon Prime Video to watch it again.
