Tales from the Loop Episode 7 recap: Who needs enemies with friends like these?
Who needs enemies when you have the friends that George has? That’s a question to answer during Tales from the Loop Episode 7.
Throughout Tales from the Loop, we’ve seen George pop up with advice or just as a friend. He’s the son of the creator of the loop and the father that has no idea his son is no longer his son. But there’s a bigger story around him. How did he end up with a prosthetic arm?
At first, it wasn’t clear this was the story. We started with a young boy trying to get some sort of radio working. When his friends get bored, they leave the house, so the boy follows them and gets up to mischief. They find electric shock rods and use them on snakes and other wildlife.

When they decide to head out to the island just off the coast of the town, the young boy is left behind by his friends. And those “friends” leave him overnight.
What they don’t realize is that the boy’s arm is bitten by a snake. While he tries to take care of the wound, it gets infected overnight.
While on the island, he finds that someone or something else is living there. Feeling under threat, Young George doesn’t hang around to see who or what it is and finds a makeshift shelter to hide in. When his “friends” finally come back, he rushes to them but does see the creature, which is a robot.
To be able to escape, Young George has to attack the robot and knocks off its arm. George has the chance to get to his friends, but they’ve left him again. Young George collapses in the sea from the infection. Fortunately, his friends return to pick him up.
This is when we find out this is definitely Young George. His arm has to be amputated and he gets his robotic arm. However, this isn’t the end of the story. There’s clearly more about that island, an island George’s dad tells him that he should have gone to. More importantly, he isn’t to tell anyone what he saw on that island.
Of course, the creature out there haunts George’s dreams now and then. One day, as an adult, he decides it is time to find out what was on that island. George’s mom admits that his dad created something but it would scare people. It wasn’t human enough. So, to protect the robot, he took it out to the island.
George, full of empathy for his dad’s creation, heads out to the island. When he sees what he did to the creature, he hands over his own robotic arm.
That’s where we leave the story. Who else was left with plenty of questions after Tales from the Loop Episode 7?
