Idris Elba is back as the titular character in the popular UK crime drama. This time the case starts to get personal, as his past comes back to haunt him. Can be do the job without allowing himself to be affected by his demons?

The downside for many with the fourth season was the lack of Alice Morgan. Ruth Wilson made it back for the fifth, and there’s no doubt that she was the perfect villain for our smart lead. Wunmi Mosaku joined the series as DS Catherine Halliday, a new member of the team for Luther to train.

Luther Season 5 is back to the four-episode format. The fourth season has been the only one to see just two episodes. And while we loved getting something, there’s no doubt that we prefer more. And we’re happy with the four year wait to get the episodes if it means going back to the normal setup.

Of course, now we’re wondering about a sixth season. There’s no confirmation that another season is going to happen. Elba is taking on more movie roles, with the latest being as the villain in Hobbs and Shaw. That being said, this is a show close to his heart and we hope for more episodes.
