Of course, many people would like to avoid working in an environment that could lead to catching the virus. That’s where the company has offered to pay an extra $2 per hour for all factory workers. It may not sound like a lot, but there are a lot of people who are finding themselves struggling financially as other businesses temporarily close their doors. This offer of the extra pay per hour will last until April, which could help many.

It’s also worth noting that these online deliveries aren’t selfish. A lot of people rely on them due to the practice to self-isolate and practice social distancing. The elderly are trying to avoid heading to stores where people are panic buying, so they’re trying online orders for the first time.

This isn’t just happening in the U.S. According to the official blog, the company is offering the higher wages and hiring people around the world. Jobs are also opening in the UK and various parts of Europe to deal with the situation.

The new pay will be available until the end of April. Of course, this could extend depending on the situation with the continued changes to the COVID-19 pandemic. The idea is to bring employees in until the pandemic comes to an end and people’s regular employers are able to take them back on.
