Carnival Row among the productions shut down over coronavirus

Many TV shows and movies are seeing productions halted due to coronavirus. Carnival Row is one of them, which is currently filming its second season. How long is the shutdown going to be for and what does it mean for the future of the series?
Orlando Bloom broke the news, sharing that the team would fly home from Prague. The announcement came off the back of President Trump announcing a ban on people coming in from the 26 Schengen countries in the European Union. While the Czech Republic isn’t part of Schengen, there is a worry that other European countries will be added to the list of countries Trump won’t allow flights from.

While U.S. citizens weren’t included in those being banned from travel, it’s not clear how long that situation will last. Instead, Carnival Row decided to send everyone home, especially since coronavirus continues to quickly spread around Europe.
With a previous delay due to a change of showrunner, this will mean another production delay for release. However, Amazon doesn’t have a strict timeline on when its shows will come out. We have no idea if Carnival Row Season 2 was expected sometime this year or into next year. Now it’s likely to be a 2021 release date at the earliest.
In all honesty, the delay shouldn’t be a concern. What’s important is keeping everyone safe. As Bloom says, it’s important to self-quarantine and help to “beat this bad boy” as quickly as possible.
The shutdown on some productions, like Grey’s Anatomy, is only set for two weeks at the moment. Others like NCIS and One Chicago are shutting for the rest of the season. Carnival Row will likely be shut down until travel restrictions have been lifted.
