Amazon picks up My Lovely Wife adaptation: What we know so far

Amazon is picking up a few book adaptations recently. One of those is the adaptation of My Lovely Wife, and here’s what we know so far.

Book adaptations are extremely popular at the moment, so it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that Amazon is looking at bringing more to its service. One of the latest is the adaptation of My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing. Here’s what we know about the series so far.

Deadline reported the news first, sharing that Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films is partnering with Amazon Studios to bring the adaptation. It’s going to be a film adaptation, which will make many viewers happy. With so much content out there, sometimes there’s only time to watch a movie at the weekend!

What is My Lovely Wife about?

Downing’s novel is a dark comedy, focused on Tobias and his “lovely wife,” Millicent. They look like a normal couple, but they harbor a very dark secret. Millicent is a serial murderer and Tobias is doing everything he can to cover up for her.

Of course, things go wrong and secrets are revealed. When one of the victims is discovered, Tobias realizes that there may be more to Millicent’s secrets; more that even he doesn’t know.

Will Kidman star?

Very little is known about the adaptation at this time. My Lovely Wife has been in the works for a while but had to wait for an exclusive deal between Blossom Films and Amazon. It didn’t help that Nicole Kidman was doing a number of other projects, especially book adaptations, with other networks.

There were theories that Kidman would star as Millicent in the movie. This hasn’t yet been confirmed.

So far, the movie is just in the beginning stages. There will likely be much more to come in the future, but if anyone can play the devious and secretive Millicent, Kidman can.
