Will Emma stream on Amazon Prime Video in the future?

The latest adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma is out in theaters now. Will you be able to stream Emma on Amazon Prime Video in the future?

There’s a new version of Jane Austen’s Emma adapted for screen. Focus Features has the latest period comedy. If you’re not sure about watching it on the big screen, you may want to know where and when you can stream it for free online. Will Emma be available on Amazon Prime Video?

As it’s a Focus Features movie, it’s extremely unlikely that the comedy will stream on Prime in the near future. Movies from this production studio tend to head to HBO. This has been the case with the likes of Mary, Queen of Scots and Harriet.

There is some good news for Prime members. You can grab a HBO Now subscription through Amazon Channels without paying any extra compared to going directly to the service. You’ll get everything in the one place, which often makes it easier to stream whatever you want.

It’s going to take some time for the comedy to head to the streamer. We’re looking at six months at least. However, most movies take eight to nine months to head to streaming. Focus Features will want you to buy the movie on DVD and Blu-ray first.

If you just want to watch it on Prime, you’ll need to buy or rent the movie. You’ll be able to do this through Amazon Video in about three month’s time.

The movie may eventually come to Prime, but we’re looking at a few years before that happens. There’s also no guarantee depending on licensing agreements.
