You’ve likely read the classic novel, now it’s time to see another movie adaptation. When will Emma come to Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray?

You’ll have read the Jane Austen novel. You may have even seen various adaptations over the years. Now another Emma adaptation is out. Whether you watch it in theaters or not, you’ll want to know when Emma is on Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray.

While we don’t yet have a DVD release date, it is possible to make an estimated guess. The movie is from Focus Features, so we can look at the likes of Downton Abbey and Mary, Queen of Scots to get an idea of release date. Movie releases have been between two and three months depending on success in the theaters, so we’re looking at about the same for this movie.

Mary, Queen of Scots came out two months after its December theatrical release. Meanwhile, Focus Features waited a full three months before releasing Downton Abbey. The second of the two was certainly more highly anticipated so keeping it exclusively in theaters for longer isn’t that surprising. We’re looking at between Apr. 21 and May 26 for this movie to come to DVD and Blu-ray.

The Digital release is usually a week or two before the DVD release. We’ll be looking at the start of April at the very earliest, but the exact date will depend on the DVD and Blu-ray decisions.

For those who haven’t read the classic novel, it is one of Austen’s comedies about a young matchmaker who lives with her elderly father. Despite her ability to match others, she continually refuses to marry. This disappoints many, especially the men who would love to court her.
